Video of Lineback Doubletake from winter 2011

The ground was uneven, but you can clearly see the quality of this stallion.

He has straight legs, good bone, a nice shoulder

and a very nice top line and croup.

Even in his winter coat, that is evident.

Doubletake is a very classic, old-style Morgan. He is nicely put together.

June 18th 2011. Jordan is such a handsome fellow. He has matured so much.

Jordan has really matured this summer. He is so typey and curvey.

Jordy at the Vermont Morgan Heritage Days show July 4th weekend 2009.

I was a TOTAL nervous wreck and did NOT know what I was doing, but I had fun with my Big Man.

He took second in his in hand class.

Handsome....

Jordan May 2009. What a curvey pretty boy!

Jody's favorite passtime.

Aires above the ground....

I LOVE this stallion! He is put together just right.

Here are a few shots just before Jordy gets his winter coat in.

Jordy has such nice straight legs with perfect bone.

He has a nice long and full mane and tail, very striking!

He is as nice from the back as he is from the front.

Can't you see Jordan in a reining class? I believe he would have excelled!

Jordy is by the incomparable Grulla stallion Stormwashed (by my favorite producer of duns Robbi-Sue's Sweet Success)

and out of a daughter of Turfwood Royal Flush, which means lots of good breeding like Jubilee King!!

With his great breeding, he is everything we could ask for. The color is just a bonus!

He will produce a Dun dilute 50% of the time when bred to non-dun mares and 75% to dun mares!

He has wonderful conformation, with a nice laid-back shoulder and short back with a great hip and hind quarter.

He is perfectly proportioned and well put together.

Jordy has taken all the changes that have come his way with enthusiasm.

He has proved himself smart and a willing learner.  He is very laid back and personable.

Jordan was bred by Bob and Kellie Sharpe of Daymark Farm in Georgia.

I am honored to call them friends and look forward to doing business with them in the future!

  Jordy's Story...

July 2007 Jordan punctured his fetlock on the pin of a round pen panel. Initial inspection by my vet

left little doubt that the only damage was a good sized wound that just needed a lot of time to heal.

After seven weeks of aggressive treatment and seemingly a good recovery, Jordy's leg severely swelled up to his knee.

X-rays revealed breaks in his sesamoid bone and major damage to the tendons.

Further ultrasound showed a piece of the bone broken off and a large crack in what remained of the bone

and major hardening and deep infection in the tendons that attach to the sesamoid bone.

The outlook was grim. We were given a 60-70% chance of a "pasture sound" horse with an aggressive

surgery and treatment following to remove the broken piece of bone and clean out and infuse the tendons

with strong antibiotics. Jordan faced months in his stall and very limited movement.

We had a decision to make. It was clear in my heart that Jordan was worth the expense of the surgery,

but how much would he suffer? The surgeon, Dr Axel Sondhof, formerly of Saratoga Equine (now in his own practice)

assured me that it would be tolerable.

For two weeks following the surgery I sobbed on Jordan as he hobbled around in his stall and

I second guessed my decision to go through with it. After four weeks of complete lameness and no

tolerance of any weight on his foot, we began to see a change. Just a little at a time Jordy began to step on his foot gingerly.

Slowly he progressed to putting full weight on it for getting around. After two months he was walking with a limp

but was able to walk. After a while he was back to lifting his good leg high when he was served his grain!

It's funny how such a little thing meant so much!

The thing that assured me we made the right choice has been Jordan's great attitude the whole time.

Although he would get a little silly in his stall as he felt better, he never got frustrated by his confinement.

His hand walking at times was more like hand trotting and hand playing. But he never got mean. Never.

This is a stallion with a big heart and a great mind. We believe he will pass on his great temperament and mind to his get.

Jordy Oct 2007 on a hand walk. Two months after surgery.

Still he moves me. He is just beautiful!
